I have my eyes on a rotatable in both directions LG IPS semi gloss monitor (60hz, 75hz overdriven)that would work well with a a variety of sources including xb360 for mushifutari and Raiden fighters, the forthcoming HDMI mod for ps1 (Raiden fighters DX, strikers 1945 II), and with an ossc for Saturn (batsugun, garegga).
My last experience was with very good for its time TN 120hz planar display for YOKO gaming but it left me missing the phosphor glow and deep blacks and I had to return to a CRT.
With space at a premium I’m hoping a good IPS rotatable display would serve my TATE needs exclusively and supplement my use of CRTs In YOKO mode especially for slower paced games.
Has anyone been able to make the switch and been satisfied enough to not go back to a CRT for TATE gaming?
