Neo Geo Arcade Stick Pro

Post by Marc »

Ordered one of these after seeing the Hylo soft mod, but I believe the stock stick and buttons are average at best. Looking to mod it but not a clue what to start with. I'd like something with the shortest throw possible, the stock Capcom Arcade has too much travel for my liking. In fact, I'll probably swap those out at some point out too, but starting with the Neo stick as I believe it's supposed to be straight forward. Any suggestions on the best stuff to fit would be much appreciated.

I stuck a Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT, it was a bit better but still too lose for my taste, I modded that with a Kowal 1mm Oversize Actuator and 2LB spring, it was much better but a little too much resistance.

I ended up with a Seimitsu LS-56, it's a pretty simple drop in mod if you get the version that has the separate microswitch connections and the S plate. I prefer the Seimitsu LS32 but it won't fit in there without heavy modifications.
I went with Seimitsu buttons, don't get the snap in, they do not fit snugly, not a big deal really but it bugged me, so I got the screwbutton Seimitsu buttons.
