PS2 Saturn pad for PS2/PS1.
PS2 Saturn pad + converter for DC.
USB Saturn pad for MAME.
Saturn Saturn pad for Saturn.

Hori digital pad for GC.

Regular default pads for Mega Drive, PC-Engine, SNES and NES.

SG Commander for Sega Master System. (Excellent pad, but hard to come by.)

Competition Pro Star stick for Atari 2600, Amiga and C64.

With my hands.

Hori Tekken 5 stick or Namco PS1 stick.

Depends on which one is most readily available.

Wouldn't mind getting one of those gynormous Blast City control panels, unfortunately there would be nowhere to put the damn thing.

I use my Dual Shock pad & I always leave the vibration on. I find it kind of motivating, in a way. If I feel the vibration because my ship just died (like in Gekioh), it just adds fuel to the fire & makes me want to get back in there & play harder to get past the point that's stumping me. I don't have a PS2/PSX joystick - I have found that I play better overall w/ a pad for most genres (w/ the possible exception of fighters).

Regular DC pad for all DC shmups.
I bought a 10 dollar PS2 to DC controller coverter off ebay so I can use my PS2 Saturn Pad for the DC

works great

it was only like 17 bucks total

worth it's weight in gold

(I did a quick search and couldn't find one for sale, :( )

here's a link though:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... RK:MEWN:IT

lets you use your VMU too
Thanks. I use sand paper and sanded the d-pad and all over the controller for a much better grip. I actually quite like the DC pad.
