Help finding a quality component splitter

Post by evil_ash_xero »

As the title says, I'm looking for a component splitter. But a high quality one. They have them on Amazon, from Monoprice, but I'm looking for something a little better.
Any help, would be greatly appreciated.
Here's a pic of what I'm looking for.

Audio Authority 985U units can be found for very cheap on eBay, and are sturdy as all hell. They also have 4 outputs and can be linked to other units, accept analog and coax digital audio, and will take RCA RGBS/most likely (almost 100% certain) RGBHV as well. If you opt for RGBHV then you'll only have enough ports for either mono analog audio, or digital audio

I'm actually selling one on eBay with adapters for connecting RGB SCART as well, if you see it and are interested feel free to send an offer and lemme know that you're from Shmups. The higher price reflects what I paid for all the SCART adapters / the fact that it has a PSU, but I'll obviously go for less than the asking price for a Shmups-pal

EDIT:
No clue if the digital audio in/outs on the A.A. are possibly wired differently? Or if they are 'fuck it, I'll take whatever, just match the output signal' ports like regular analog audio video ports. If the latter, can happily use RGBHV + analog stereo audio

Don't get the one linked above. You will want a powered one if at all possible. AA is good, as is the gcompsw.

Those look good, but I'm looking for something a lot smaller. I only need one signal, to go to two televisions. And I am very low on space.

It's roughly 5 inches across, 9 inches long, 3 inches tall (from memory).

As mentioned above, definitely look for a powered one.

^ This is from the fella who I got to re-release his 1:2 powered SCART splitter, pricier than those Audio Authority units but nice 'n compact / guaranteed great quality. Otherwise, just browse around eBay/Amazon/Aliexpress and get the cheapest, most compact powered one you can find. Do you need to split the audio, too? If not I bet that'll cut costs! Try also searching 'distribution amplifier' if you haven't already.

Ayyyy, good deal right there! Key Digital were total YPbPr-sluts back in the early 2000s :P I have one of their devices, real solid quality.

Shinybow made good powered ones as well. Used to see them around the thrift shop and eBay for very little.

Don't think that's the case anymore, I'd assume the growing popularity of CRT gaming / pReCiOuS RGBBBB has made their SCART transcoder pretty popular, in turn making them much better-known. I've not seen any of their splitters/switchers/matrices for cheap anytime recently.

They actually have a 1x4 splitter similar to the Audio Authority I mentioned, only it also has a dedicated S-Video port and moar RCA ports, so RCA RGBHV & L+R analog audio is no problemo on those units. Not that it's likely to be a good price, there's probably bountiful dirt cheap 1x4 VGA+audio splitters one could use. Just made the Audio Authority connection.
