I'm looking to update my GCDual and my WiiDual to the latest firmwares.
Do I still need a CH341A programmer?
Also, which file(s) would I need to flash from the Github page?
I'm assuming [gcvideo-3.0e-dual-gc.zip] for the GCDual and [gcvideo-3.0e-dual-wii.zip] for the WiiDual?
However, I also see [updater-3.0e-gc.dol] and [updater-3.0e-wii.zip] files?
EDIT: Hmmm, it looks like Dan also has files on his website? http://dansprojects.com/firmware/GCDual/
GCDual - Do I need a CH341A programmer to update?
Re: GCDual - Do I need a CH341A programmer to update?
You need a CH341A programmer if you are on an old version (I think pre-3.0) of the firmware. Once you are already on 3.0 or later, you can update by running a DOL file instead.sofakng wrote:I'm looking to update my GCDual and my WiiDual to the latest firmwares.

Unfortunately Dan's documentation on firmware is quite lacking, and he doesn't make it clear anywhere on his website why he has a different line of firmwares separate from the official GCVideo firmwares, nor does he provide changelogs or anything. Unless you wanna track down his comments on message boards. I don't think his version numbers are quite in sync with ikorb's either... I'm using Dan's firmwares though, I figured that would make the most sense given that they're designed specifically for his boards.
