Hi everyone. I decided to make a second shmup in four weeks. This time it's horizontal and has options and more than one level. I think it's a bit more fun than the first shmup I made but it's still lacking in a bunch of areas due to the time constraint. Anyways, I had fun making it and I may revisit it in the future. Any feedback is appreciated.
I'll also be posting updates and releases for any future small shmups in this thread so that I don't clog up the forum with posts.
You can check out a video playthrough of it here.

Minimalistic, yet quite detailed. Good combination.
Fan of Transformers, Shmups and Anime-styled Girls. You're teamed up with the right pilot!

With so many bullets i would try make it a laser-beam.

The first screenshot suggests another thing to do with bullet stream reference directions: instead of following the reference direction, every single bullet can be aimed at a target inside a very narrow cone around it (or straight if no target is found).heli wrote:With so many bullets i would try make it a laser-beam.

Sorry i did not mean the screenshot, watch the youtube movie then you see.
Enough hitpoints for a laser-beam.
Add 1 more week to implement the laser with a vertexbuffer.
