Help with the Rohga Armor Force endings.
Hello.
Anyone know how to get the different endings for this arcade shmup?
I noticed there is a cheat to skip levels and it also jumps you to 4 different endings, problem is I tried beating the game level by level, I tried selecting any of the 4 machines, tried beating without continuing, dying a lot, continuing a lot, with 1 player, 2 players, etc, etc and I still get the same ending.
Any of you know what needs to be done to achieve the other ones?

Alright, I appreciate it.
I can access the other endings in the arcade version, with cheats of course. What I'm interested is in knowing HOW do you get them.
I'm starting to think that those endings are unused endings only viewable with cheats considering the standard ending changes if I use 1 or 2 players and the others do not change at all, even when I only use the woman.

Yes, there are SS and PSOne ports of Wolf Fang. the mech customization is nice but the gameplay is not so hot.
Sorry, haven't checked it yet but will do within the week, promise

Sorry for a massive necroposting, but after all these years, did anyone figure out something about the Rohga endings?
I beat the USA version on every possible way and variation and I still got the same ending, yet on the MAME cheats you can select between 4 different endings.
Does anyone know the conditions to get them or were they never included in the final game?
I noticed MAME now has Euro and Hong Kong versions of the game. Maybe they were included in those ones. Or maybe they are achievable on the undumped Wolf Fang?

I found out something more (maybe the people that have Wolf Fang for PSX and Saturn can help me with this?).
Now that there are more Rohga versions (3.0 and 5.0) in MAME (still no Wolf Fang though), I decided to try again. None of the versions had anything different.
However, there is now a cheat to change the region and the name of the game to Japan and Wolf Fang.
It didn't change the title screen but when you start the game you now get an introduction and after you beat stage 2 you are able to select from 2 missions (on the other versions you just played all the levels in a linear fashion).
Such cheat doesn't seem to work on the USA version, but it does work on the other versions (Euro, Hongkong). Probably because the USA is version 1.0 and doesn't contain the Japanese data, whereas the other 3.0 and 5.0 versions do.
Anyways, when you take the different paths you will reach different end missions, which I assume reach to the other endings. I wasn't able to confirm it since the game froze after I beat each of the last missions (except mission 12).
From mission 2 -> mission 4 -> mission 8 -> mission 12 -> ending 1 (CONFIRMED)
From mission 2 -> mission 4 -> mission 7 -> mission 11 -> ending 2?
From mission 2 -> mission 3 -> mission 6 -> mission 10 -> ending 3?
From mission 2 -> mission 3 -> mission 5 -> mission 9 -> ending 4?
Now, I assume that the path selection is from the Japanese version. But I just saw a youtube video of someone playing Wolf Fang and there was no path selection. It appears it's the Japanese arcade version seeing as there is a "credits 01" on the bottom. I'm not sure if the PSX & Saturn versions also have the "credits 01" on the bottom. Can anyone explain what the heck is going on with that game?
Here are some brief descriptions of each ending in case someone remembers them from the PSX & Saturn versions.
Ending 1: the characters reach the aircraft carrier, everyone is celebrating, a jet flies low and everyone falls into the water. It shows a pic the people carrying the hero on their shoulders and it says "1-PL" on the bottom.
Ending 2: it shows the hero on a hospital bed asking WTH happened and it says "B-1+" on the bottom.
Ending 3: it shows an explosion on a mountain and then the general wondering how to get the hero out of there. it shows "B-3+" on the bottom.
Ending 4: it shows the hero with an explosion in the back and then you see the helmet on the floor. It says "Start" on the bottom.
(I think that 1-PL and B-1 stuff is about that "special mode" code in the Japanese arcade version. I don't know what the special mode is about though.)

Wolf Fang PSone Jpn (SLPS 00254)
Game Mode: Arcade
Sound Mode: Arcade
Voice: Off
Life: Normal
Level: Normal
How did I play: I shamelessly creditfeeded it until the end.
Robot: Select Mode, type-B
Route:
Mission 2 -> Mission 3b (New Zealand Easy) -> Mission 4-D (Yggdrasil easy) -> Mission 5-D ("Thul") -> the pilot uses the robot to destroy a final barrier, then everything explodes. A series of stills show him surviving the explosion, and walking away after leaving his helmet on the ground. (ending 4)
Then there's a credit roll which I'm pretty sure has been made for the home port.

Robot: Select Mode, type-A
Route:
Mission 2 -> Mission 3-A (Hard) -> Mission 4-B ("Wadogals" Easy) -> Mission 5-B ("Frey") -> your mech falls into the underground tunnel and submerges into the sea. You're rescued by a green UN submarine, still of the pilot which is being medicated by nurses and quarrels with a doctor for some reason.

To sum it up:
stage 3 hard -> stage 4 hard -> ending 1 (lemming marines on the carrier)
stage 3-A -> stage 4-A -> stage 5-A
??? - Ragnarok II - Odin
stage 3 hard -> stage 4 easy -> ending 2 (nurses on the submarine)
stage 3-A -> stage 4-B -> stage 5-B
??? - Wadogals - Frey
stage 3 easy -> stage 4 hard -> ending 3 (exploding volcano)
stage 3-B -> stage 4-C -> stage 5-C
New Zealand - Midgardworm - Sol
stage 3 easy -> stage 4 easy -> ending 4 (leaving the helmet)
stage 3-B -> stage 4-D -> stage 5-D
New Zealand - Yggdrasil - Thul
I don't think the choice of the mech affects endings in any way, at least not on this home port.

Awesome, thanks for all the info. It was most helpful turrican!
I guess it's just a matter of time (in 10 more years) before someone finds the Arcade Wolf Fang and dumps it for MAME to emulate it.
I hope that those 4 endings are indeed on the Japanese version though considering you play all the stages in the USA one.
