Yeah, I totally want it, but too far away for me, and I don't want it bad enough to arrange for someone to go get it for me.

Here's the official brochure, the Ivory colored one is like three pages in. Wonder if the Ivory colored speakers actually exist?

I take it it's a Moby Dick/hunter going after rare creature reference

Ah, should never have sold my black low hours 2530. Prolly biggest mistake of my life. That white one would look so good as part of my current setup. Would swap it for my monstrous, ugly and unwieldy BVM A20 in a heartbeat.

hey bud! keep hope. there are some top-shelf consumer/prosumer Trinitrons that look really, really close to a 2530.
Here in NA, the KV-25XBR fits the bill, it's close enough. I'm sure there's a model or two in Europe that does as well, check the top sets from the same era.

Nah, 2530 or bust for me. Half the reason I liked it was because of its square aesthetics. Besides, anything but Bang & Olufsen CRT's have long been recycled here in my part of the world. Looking for a quality SONY consumer model that isn't already inches from the grave is a fool's errand. Heck, looking for an early 90's PVM with low hours is even less likely to happen. I already have a bunch of B&O in storage and in my room. I'd love my old 2530 back. Those aesthetic as hell vibrant colours and scanlines are burned in my mind's eye. Half the reason why it looked so good was the, in my opinion, perfect balance between high/low line count, and the low hours.

If money was no object 2530's can still be found for a king's ransom. But they prolly have so many hours that they could never hold a candle to my old one. I only sold it because I was afraid it wouldn't survive a crossatlantic move. In hindsight it totally would have.
