Hi all.
I have a CPS2 connected to a CBOX Supergun (yes I know some say they are trash but their MVS Cbox works for me no problem). Anyway, I run component out into a retrotink and then HDMI to my tv. I get a picture and sound that looks wonderful but then lose signal ever 20 seconds or so. I have heard it’s maybe a video sync issue? I have gone component directly into the tv as well but that doesn’t seem to help.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Do you have another tv or monitor you can test with? Beyond that, are you able to connect the cps2 to another interface or directly to a jamma cab?

I tried a different TV from the same manufacturer (VIZIO) and this is what I found, It seems at the title menu no issues. Once I get into a fight in SSF Vs Capcom there was still some issues losing signal. I went into the tv settings and turned on game mode (which I also did on the other tv) and this SEEMED to reduce the occurrences but still happened once a round or so. Then I went into the tv settings and changed from wide screen to normal aspect ration (so essentially black strips to the left and right of the picture) and I stopped getting video loss... for now. I’m not sold that it’s fixed but it’s much better. I can at least play it now. I’ll keep an eye on it. I think it proves that the tv is the issue and that the signal out is ok.
However, then I realized how damn loud the fan is on a CPS2 board... wow. Anyway to quiet it down? I get that it’s made for an arcade cabinet but holy cow!

If you're handy at modding, a 56ohm resistor in line on the positive wire will have it running much more quietly. Cps2 in no way requires that overkill of a wind tunnel that is native to the boards. It just needs minimal airflow to keep heat from accumulating overtime.
If you're not handy at modding, there are good options for replacement fans. They run around $10-$15 if memory serves. I dont remember exact details, but search around and I'm sure you'll find a thread on one of these enthusiast forums with options for replacement. JNX might sell one now that im thinking about it?

Thank you! I actually found a video YouTube of a Canadian fella changing out his. I bought a similar fan (same volts and amps) and same size and will go that route.
As for the video signal, I’m not sold it’s fixed. I’m just debating my options. It’s difficult because the output of the Cbox is analog. And to go fishing for TVs that will accept the signal is hot or miss. It would be nice to have a dedicated TV that I know works or somehow fix it so it will on my gaming TV. But I’m damn certain now it’s not the CBOX or board but the signal coming out and the tv taking issue with it.
