That guy doesn't give a crap about games. I doubt he has any more good ideas left in him.

Isn't Prope still under Sega technically though?

Wow....that's sad really, that the creator of Sonic the Hedgehog would be hated so much for leaving. :(
The world would be a better place if there were less shooters and more dot-eaters.

No. They're investing 10% of it's capital, reportedly. They would likely make some type of return on their games, but of course, wouldn't have creative control.

As long as Yu Suzuki doesn't leave, I'm happy. Good riddance. I still say that bastard spent all the money from PSO's hunter licenses on coke to snort.

Well, there's really no crime in that, now is there?

Well, what about not giving any quests or taking care of the server? I mean, if they were going to charge everyone 8 bucks per month, they should at least make it look they weren't spending it all in coke.

Sonic's creator, Naoto Oshima, left some time ago. Yuji Naka was the lead programmer for Sonic Team. Although, for nearly the past decade, he's been more of a figure-head than an active designer/programmer.

So can someone explain to me why it is there's a lot of backlash towards him? I mean, what did he do that pissed people off so much? I haven't been paying much attention to Sega lately.

No idea really.

Then again I'm actually a fan of Shadow the Hedgehog.

Some people are mad that there hasn't been a NiGHTs sequel. Some are mad about the state of Phantasy Star Online (JP servers >> US servers). Some are angry about Shadow/The current state of the Sonic games. Some don't like his attitude..etc etc etc.

There's always someone angry about one thing or another, so needless to say everyone hates him. He is/was an amazing programmer however.

I think he's alright personally, but then again I have no taste in games as I actually thought Shadow was good..

I can't think of any game from Yuji Naka that I really liked since the original 2D Sonic series...

Indeed. Oshima-san is at Artoon, making Blinx the Cat, Vampire Rain, Blue Dragon, etc.

Not much to say about Naka, except that he peaked over ten years ago with Sonic 3.
I've heard stories about how he was going to leave Sega after Sonic 2 because the Sonic Team didn't work on it, until he demanded a Porsche and an assload of money. Always seemed like a pompous prick to me, considering most of his games weren't that great anyways.
