Darius II

Hi guys!

Several months ago I remember buying Darius II for Sega Saturn on E-Bay and I thought it was an excellent shooter from Taito because of the following:

1.It emulates the arcade versions three monitors which means you can zoom in and out during the game.

2.It has an excellent soundtrack by Zuntata that is much less dark and depressing than Darius Gaiden. My favorite song in this game would have to be the one in level 2 where it has a creepy and haunting song as well as the one when you fight Drio Swan or Grand Octopus where it opens up with a bird screeching and then it plays a cool and jazzy song.

3.It has many levels to choose from and each one has a different boss including Hyper Sting and Mother Hawk. My favorite boss battle is against Alloy Lantern and there is no music when you fight him and when you defeat him, you go inside him and a haunting and beatiful Zuntata song begins to play when you fight either Steel Spine or Killer Hijia inside Alloy Lantern.

The only things I diid not like about this game is that when you die on level 4 or 5 you're basically screwed because you lose all your powerups and your default weapon is far too weak to kill the later enemies, the later midbosses and the later bosses. This can also result in you losing all of your continues before you make it to the end of the game. Also, they should have made it a Darius deluxe pack with both this game and the first Darius game as well. Other than that, this was an excellent shooter from Taito and I think that Twinbee ain't got nothing on this game. Anyone else have an opinion on this great game?

The thing I like most about this game is that there is nothing cute in it. Just your spaceship and tons of uncute fish. If it had some cutscenes with torture, murder and rape, then it would be nearly perfect.

I don't think that Jac2Mac is a "real" account. It seems more like a joke/experiment to see how long people will keep replying.
