Silicon Optix Image Anyplace IA-100 shadow band

Post by stuntman »

With output on my Image Anyplace set to VGA 60Hz, going to a tri-sync arcade monitor, a faint shadow-like band (about a third of screen height) rolls slowly from bottom to top of the display. The monitor displays fine with the XRGB-3 that I normally use. Can anyone suggest a possible cause/solution for this issue?

Oh well, as nobody offered any suggestions I went with my own instinct and replaced the internal power supply. The issue is resolved. Now to enjoy some GBA Consolizer on a CRT with scanlines... :)

hoiw about a photo of the setup in action?

Do you only use the SOIA for downscaling in this particular setup ?

How did you source the replacement PSU?

I struggled to get any decent shots with my camera, but here's 2:

Yes, the SOIA only for downscaling (with 4:3 aspect crop) and an SLG3000 on the VGA out. Consolizer set to 4X scale. Looks very nice and I don't notice any input lag.

PSU from here:

Original was 5V 5A, but I ordered 5V 6A. I don't really know if it's any good, but it works. Some removal/modification of the outer cage was required for internal fitment:
