Shikigami no Shiro PS2 HELP!

I just picked up the first game in the Shikigami no Shiro series on PS2, and I'm finding the menus to be impossible to be navigate. The main screen presents four options, but none of them seem to get me into the main arcade mode. The top option takes me into what I assume is the main game, but after selecting it I end up buttoning through pages and pages of dialogue, and I end up giving up after 50+ dialogue bubbles. The other three selections seem to be for basic options and some sort of museum mode, but all of the menus are in Japanese and I seem to be totally lost.

Please help, as I just want to know how to put the game in Tate and play the main arcade mode.

My bad. I seem to have bought Shikigami no Shiro: Nanayozuki Gensoukyoku instead of the original arcade game. This sure is a weird little oddity.

That sucks. That's actually what I was going to ask: "you didn't pick up the visual novel Shikigami game did you?"

Ah well, it was only $10 on ebay. I knew that price was too good to be true.
