Just listen to the very last track of Psyvariar 2: Original Sound Track Plus:
Track 20 -- Asteroid (Piano Solo) the last remaining 1:03 minutes and you'll hear a cool bonus classic PC Engine shmup "ending theme" piece.
Anybody want to guess what the name of the PCE game that particular bonus "ending theme" is from? Hint: Turbo Technolgies Incorporated did release this particular Hudson Soft produced PCE shmup under the same name in the USA in late 1992 as a Turbo Grafx-16 Hu-Card cartridge.

From your hint I'd guess it's Soldier Blade. I'd love to hear this tribute, it's one of my favourite PCE shmups.
Though I probably won't recognize it, it's been quite a while since I cleared it...

No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

The answer to the mystery PCE shmup tribute is...
If you play/own the classic PCE/TG-16 version of Hudosn Soft's Soldier Blade, the last minute & three seconds of Track #20 on the Psyvariar 2 OST music CD does pay tribute to the "ending theme" of Soldier Blade. I used to listen to the Soldier Blade BGM tunes many times until I got it by heart...I thought I recognized hearing that particular PCE "ending theme" from a shmup but really wasn't sure.
Upon further investigation as I do indeed have a TG-16 & Turbo Duo with some shmup Hu-Cards including Soldier Blade, it is INDEED Soldier Blade's "Ending Theme" that is hidden in the Psyvariar 2 OST Music CD.
I wonder if any of the current Success musicians did work on the Soldier Blade BGM tunes...but what a nice but sly way to sneak a PCE shmup tribute like that. ^_~
