I was being a little sarcastic with the whole "pre-scanlined template!" (I mean, sarcastic about it being exciting, not about the existence of the template), as the scanlines are--as you mentioned--a bit much.

That said, the wallpapers are otherwise awesome and varied enough to forgive that overboard stylistic choice. (although, I've yet to try one on my 4k laptop. I may whole-heartedly agree with you on that venue)
