Sorry to bump an old thread but I'm experiencing the same issue as our friend Taiyaki here. Is the only solution opening up the CRT and physically adjusting the equipment? I set my KV20FV300 to +5 Tilt and that is just on the edge of being perfect geometry and the scrolling diagonal lines are faint but a software solution would be great if anyone has figured something out. These late model Trinitrons display such a nice image, it's a shame that an issue like this keeps it from being a perfect option.

Update: While this post was waiting for approval I dug into the service menu, adjusted TROT to 245 (Tilt +5) and eliminated the issue while also correcting my geometry to 99% there. Pretty happy with the result without having to open the set up.

I have the same problem with my KV20FV300, will try this solution first before opening it up, thanks for posting!

Happy to finally have found this answer. Adjusting the tilt on my 27fs100L made the scrolling lines disappear. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to physically adjust the yoke... Unless someone has found a different solution since then?

This issue has strange quirks, as OP noted. My Genesis and SNES have the issue, while some other 240p sources do not- namely my PS1 and PC Engine Duo. It is not interference from wires or power sources either. I have tested with multiple consoles. And multiple input types! SNES running S-video, composite, and component all have the same issue!

not only CRTs
diagonal lines from top left to bottom right also appear on some Panasonic plasmas, both 480p and 1080p generations
i,too, searched internet again and again, didn't find why
what makes thing more funny,my short view right eye could not see these lines, while my left eye can see these lines two meters away

diagonal lines also appear on Samsung lcd(?) tvs these two years
