Brain Age

Post by Vexorg »

I'm just curious if anyone else here has this? I'm not sure if it's actually doing anything, but once I figured out how to be able to select the tests used on the brain age check (mostly to skip the word memory test), I can get it down to 20. I'm not sure if it's actually doing any good, but I find it is interesting enough to stick with. The main problem I have with it is that occasionally the handwriting recognition is iffy which leads to inaccurate results.

I got this about a week ago, and oddly enough, I've been doing it every morning with complete dedication. Who knows if it's actually doing any good, but it is kind of fun and addicting. I've only done two brain age checks - the first one when you start (age 53) and a second one a week later (age 33), but I did the random battery of tests.

I've had good results for the handwriting, but the one thing is that my score stays relatively constant for a lot of tests, such as reading. I can only read something aloud so fast, so it's not improving much.

If you want to choose the tests on the brain age check, you can do so by holding down select while you choose the option from the menu.

I do quite well on most of the tests, but a couple trip me up badly (especially the word memory, I can usually manage to remember only about 6) and although I do OK on the Stroop test, it tends not to be accurate because it will occasionally fail to recognize a correct answer (mostly on "Blue".) The one I have the most problem with is the Low to High. I don't have all the exercises unlocked yet though (I've been using it for about two weeks now, I think there's two more to unlock, plus hard modes for most.)

I've found what helps the mic recognize the words you say better is to keep it a good 1.5-2 feet away from you and to talk in a normal conversation volume. I have no problems with it now. =D

The voice-rec. is shit.

Somehow,it just won't register the word 'blue'...

Maybe I should say 'Brue' instead of 'Blue' next time

Say "ba-loo."

That usually works.
