Geometry settings in the serrvice menu done through sync?

Geometry settings in the serrvice menu done through sync?

Have a crt that osd mod went bad and R in pin is shorted to ground internally in the ic. tapped the neckboard and get a decent pic but geometry is off of course. If I get the OSD hooked back up and working again would geometry settings in the service menu carry out over the sync line that's still connected or is it adjusted across the actual beams?
