And it was real fun to play, at parts more hectic than the real House of Dead gamesdai jou bu wrote:You're not supposed to try to comprehend it. I mean, there's even a House of the Dead game where you attack with a keyboard instead of a light gun.Damocles wrote:I still havn't figured out why traffic goes 150+ miles an hour. Just doesn't do it for me...though I love the rest of Outrun2

I picked up the XBox version at Fry's yesterday. Although it was supposedly "on sale", it was actually five bones over list price. Oh well.
So yeah...very fun stuff. I actually like the inclusion of custom soundtracks, which I don't believe Outrun 2 had (I could be wrong, though...it's been a while since I played it). There's something very cool about playing Heart Attack mode to the tune of The Briefs' "She's Abrasive" or "Love Song" by The Damned. I can only listen to "Splash Wave" and its' variants so many times, personally.

Were those Scud Racer/Daytona 2 tracks in the Xbox version of OutRun 2?PepsimanVsJoe wrote:From what I've heard..
The only things missing from Outrun 2k6 are the Scud Racer/Daytona 2 tracks. They were IMO rather poor since they didn't exactly gel with Outrun's style of play. But hey it's the closest anyone will get to home ports of the two aformentioned games.

Hmmmm. Any one else...
...notice that the XBox version loads for about 40 seconds (or more) when loading the very first track you play after turning it on? Or is this just my copy or XBox?
...notice that the PS2 version is NOT as jaggy as the XBox one? Really, it's because it's not as sharp and is rather blurry compared to the X version. But still a worthy version.
...notice that the PS2 version's "60hz Progressive Scan" mode is a completely useless blurry mess? I can barely read the small letters after choosing Progressive Scan mode. So far, this is the only game I own that I play in normal and not Prog Scan. Weird. Or is this just my copy?
...think of fat jokes after the fat flag guy talks to you? Like he says, "Rank Triple A." I can't help but continue in his voice, "Where's my damn triple cheeseburger with extra cheese and super sized fries and drink?"
... think that this game rocks your momma's world?
