DDP DOJ xbox 360 port vs current Mame Emulation

Post by EVLSHMUP »

Just starting to take an interest in this port after playing Futari to death over the last 5 years.

I wondered if anyone could give me any sort of idea of how the emulation is on the Xbox 360 versions vs Mame?

Tempted to grab physical but it would involve also getting a Jap 360, so the costs go up and trying to figure out if its justifiable.

Not sure how others feel, but Mark_MSX hated the 360 version in his video from a couple months back.

Play MAME, better slowdown accuracy and less input lag makes it easier. The 360 port is shit, the only good things about it are the arrange soundtrack and online leaderboards. Wait for M2 to do it right.

I thought it was sorted out to a large degree, due to the patch?

I have the PS2 version as well. Is that more accurate?

God, I'm still waiting for a port of DoDonPachi, for the HD generation. And not hidden a visual novel. Hopefully M2 will get around to that.

The 360 version of DDP DOJ uses stolen code from the PS2 port, which was coded from the ground up in PS2 assembly.

The PS2 port is superior if you want to stick with white label. As stated though above, the 360 game does feature a really cool arrange sound track and the additional arrange mode (Black Label Extra) is fun.

I use Retroarch with Mame2014 core. Smooth sailing.
