Comiket 97 Doujin Game Trailers (Some shmups included)

Post by cj iwakura »

Be warned, quality goes all over the place(some of it is literal trash), but there's some good stuff here, and thankfully, it's not all Touhou.

The shmup at 31:08(Rolling Gunner) looks notably great, and there's an interesting Silpheed-like afterward.

Ah, yes. Rolling Gunner was getting a patch that would make the game harder, I heard. Which one is the Silpheed-like game?

The one right after it, the 3D one.

It looks more like Ace Combat than Silpheed, actually... Unless you're thinking of the totally unrelated Project Sylpheed for the Xbox 360.

That too, I guess the planet surface just gave me a classic SCD Silpheed vibe.

Nal (of Edelweiss - one of the guys behind Astebreed) has been doing these compilation summary videos for quite some years now. Also, you should probably link their site: http://edelweiss.skr.jp/info/c97pv/index.html

I'm going to use this thread as an opportunity to list what's getting released.

- Hitsujisan is releasing a complete version of Majin Shoujo STG (tentative title) ver. C97 (day 2 - everything else releases on the 31st)
- BLUE&WHITE will be releasing a demo of BLUE SABERS Early Mission
- Akiragoya is releasing a demo of Shuuen no Archetype. This is the Yakouga series/Steel Vampire dev.
- VAGUES will be releasing an "extra disc" of Jishou no Chihei Mendako/The Flying Pancake Octopus in Blackhole.
- reverse snare is releasing a demo of Archaic Deathbringer
- Rolling Gunner's releasing Over Power for PC, which has new mechanics and music (and now includes COSIO, Ryu☆, Yack., yamajet, Yonao Keishi & Hideaki Kuroda)
- Nagasaki Daigaku Multimedia Kenkyuukai is releasing a demo of NOVAE

Personally looking forward to how Blue Sabers develops, looks pretty good.

The demo's of Blue Sabers (http://www.blue-and-white.net/soft/bsem/bsem_e.html) and Archetype (http://akiragoya.sakura.ne.jp/game/archetype/) are already on their respective sites.

The Blue Sabers demo does have English text as an option. But JP text only on Archetype, but fairly easy to navigate English menu options. Already checked both demos out, they're solid.
