Question about sync converter hardware

Post by Nodoyuna »

Hi

I have a PC equipped with CRT Emudriver for Groovymame and I'm using an UMSA device to connect the VGA output to my 15KHz monitor

Also, I have a Dreamcast, using a Kenzei device to connect to the same monitor

So, my question is: as I also have an Extron 203Rxi, and it does have 3 VGA inputs, is it possible to replace the UMSA and the Kenzei with the Extron?

If I'm not wrong about it, all three devices only converts from RGHV to RGBS, right?

Thanks in advance

yes, indeed.

For the DC you need another VGA cable though, since the Kenzei will probably directly connect your DC to the the monitor (?)

I have an Extron VGA Matrix Switcher. One of the inputs is the Dreamcast. One of the outputs goes to the VGA monitor via Dreamcast VGA cable and another output goes to the Kenzei via normal VGA cable and then to the 15KHz monitor

So, I'll connect this VGA cable to the Extron Rxi203 instead

This is great news. I'm redoing my gaming room and now I can substitute the UMSA and Kenzei with the Rxi203, meaning less devices and less PSU around.

Even I have another VGA input on the Extron if needed :)
