Raiden III, where'd they all go?
Been reading up on this one because I missed out on it back when it dropped. At the time I honestly planned on picking it up at a later date, but I've actualy never seen one for sale second hand. Figured I'd see people getting rid of it because it sounded like such a love or hate affair.
So what's the deal? Did not many people buy it, get rid of theirs long ago, or is everyone holding onto it because they just love it so much (unlikely)?
I'm still kind of on the fence as to weather or not I should pick it up, especialy new.

From what I remember, a few people got rid of their copies pretty quickly. I guess the rest of us are hanging on for whatever reason.
Korean and Japanese versions available at play-asia. The cover of the Korean version looks to be slightly modified, although I can't say anything about the in-game text. You decide whether you want to take the risk for having it $20 cheaper.
What's strange is it seems to have completely disappeared off of yesasia's site, which is where I bought mine.

Yeah, that'd be me. I remeber you Soldat.Soldato J wrote:Damn, subcons as in subcons from Shooters Corner? Sup buddy? Synchronicity I think, I ordered this last week from Pasia and went with the cheaper K version (like $41 or something). I will post on any major text differences, though I am betting most of it is in english
Let me know how the Korean version is. I own a couple of Korean shooters (Gradius V and Psyvariar Complete). Packaging is slightly different, and of course text on it like on the cover and spine is Korean. Japanese text just looks more elegant IMO. Still, $20 discount might justify itself seeing as how I'm not sure if I'll even like the game.
EDIT: Oh, and I'm on a Mac. PC version isn't an option for me... not that I'd be that interested if it was.

Well I know that I bought it, and it will be one of the last games I get rid of, in other words I really like it
. I guess this game will never really get that cheap, just like most of caves ports.

Yeah, but at least I see the Cave games for sale once in a while. I have them all except Ibara, and people were getting rid of that the week it dropped!visuatrox wrote:Well I know that I bought it, and it will be one of the last games I get rid of, in other words I really like it. I really don't have a problem with picking up the Korean version, just want to verify that it's identical sans the packaging.

I think some Korean titles (R-Type Final, iirc) actually contain Korean text in all the menus also...subcons wrote:Let me know how the Korean version is. Well Play Asia should be shipping mine today, so I will confirm for all soon. Got the cheapest shipping so it should be a week or so (hopefully)...subcons wrote:Yeah, but at least I see the Cave games for sale once in a while. Damn thing took long this time....
Usually Pasia is good, but I guess once it leaves their hands it can go *any* way.
Looks good so far, just some Korean text replacing J text, I can give a full breakdown of the menus and stuff tonight after I play it a bit (just popped it in for a moment).
So far though, looks like it was a good buy since I won't really miss the J text, and it was only 40 bucks at Play-Asia.

Well I confirm that there is tate mode in the PC version.elvis wrote:Please expand. What makes it better? Asides from being high res?sammaza wrote:pc version is out...just get that...its the best
And nobody has yet confirmed whether the PC version has tate mode yet in the other Raiden III thread.
Looks amazing that way!
