Power A Fusion wired pads

Post by bigbadboaz »

Anyone else stumble on this announcement? Came a few days ago at an exo and no one has really picked up on it.

Anyway, wired Saturn pad clones that actually look very good. Same shape, identical-looking Dpad and six buttons of equal size rather than a tiny top row. Most importantly, versions with direct connection to X1/Switch/PS4. This is what perked me up as for whatever reason all the 8bitdo/Retro-bit/etc. solutions have not been compatible with the big two.

We'll have to wait to see how well this company can actually pull this off, but I really want a pad like this with direct PS4 compatibility.

I saw pics of it on twitter, kinda looks like a slightly different ergonomic take on the classic pad going by how the back is shaped. Interested in hearing about impressions on how it feels.

EDIT: The person who posted these says the M30 is "way better"

Hmm. I guess the feel of that new shape is the big question mark now. It could make the shoulder button action a lot more comfortable but it could also ruin the feel of the whole pad.

As for the m30.. all reports are that it's pretty great, but I'm sure wired response is "way better" than its reported high Bluetooth latency.

The m30 has a 2.4 variant that has about as little lag as a wireless device can have (3.6ms per RetroRGB), and people forget that all 8bitdo controllers can be use wired via their USB ports to eliminate the wireless latency entirely. It can also be used wired (via USB) for potentially even less latency.

Only the m30 BT can be used wirelessly with the Switch, but the m30 2.4 can still be used on the Switch (and Windows/Mac/Linx/Pi/etc) via USB.

The m30 has two shoulder buttons and home/mode/heart buttons that are probably useful for non-sega consoles.
