Here is a really cool article that Juju Kenobi and I collaberated on that details his approach to learning shmups. There are many different ways to go about things, but I think this method of approach has been shown to be really useful and effective.
Little nitpick: I really appreciate your efforts, but do you really have to create a new topic for each individual article you publish? It clutters the forum, and imo it would be much more convenient to have a single 'Electric Underground' thread in which you post whenever there‘s a new one online. You could also change the topic title accordingly to reflect it. Have a look an blackoak‘s shmuplations thread to see what I mean.
I don't know, things tend to get lost and buried in megathreads. I think your articles are almost entirely designed to provoke discussion and get the community chatting.
This forum isn't so active that a few new threads are bumping important topics to page 2.
I like the current approach, maybe a poll is in order to see what the majority think?
Yeah that's also true, like no one responds to my podcast megathread anymore, so I could see that happening too. I'll think about it, it will be a while till my next article, I'm taking a break from them and transitioning to reviews for a while.
As much as I enjoy your podcast and articles, I definitely think, personally, that you've found your niche with the reviewplays. They're so laid back and informative and entertaining to watch.
It's a kicker that the group of people interested in these games is so small because it's quality content that deserves a much wider audience.
You won't be getting those clicks and viewcounts that instantly translate to reassuring confirmation that you're not just wasting your time, but you've been brought up on a couple of forums I go to and I haven't spoken to anyone who doesn't rate your stuff highly.
