Reputable 3DO service in US

Post by mario64 »

Hi all,

I’m looking to get my FZ-1 3DO recapped. Anyone know of a reputable US-based modder who services these systems?

Thanks,
Mario

Well, 64 views and no reply. I'm guessing the only way to deal with a 3DO needing recap is to buy a new one and hope it doesn't lol

I would contact Voultar of https://voultar.com/ He has a Youtube channel where he shows off techniques and can do just about anything with a soldering iron. I believe Console5 may have a complete kit to source the caps so you could offer to send him everything he needs if he would do the work.

I am not speaking with personal experience as I don't have a 3do and do my own work but he's who I would ask first.

What's your soldering skill level? You could buy a cheap cap kit and just do it yourself; that's what I would do anyway

Mobiusstrip did a good job RGB modding my console.

He's a busy modder but I would try him.

Yes Mobius is great but he isn't taking orders right now. Goat is taking care of it :)

Coincidentally, I just pulled out my old FZ-1 out of storage yesterday so I can check capacitors and see if it had a particular chip variant citrus3000psi was interested in (mine didn't have that chip after all).

If my twin brother and I ever do any work for you, maybe we'll knock out everything all at once.
