Snes 1chip RGB image horizontal shift

Hi.

I got a PAL snes 1chip model modded with Supercic 50/60 mod.
I'm using a rgb cable sync on luma.

My problem is that the image is shifted slightly to the right.
This appears on all monitors I tried on. Panasonic Plasma, Panasonic MT-H1480 ti and a Beovision MX8000.

I can adjust the image on the monitor so the snes fills the entire screen but then all my other consoles will be shifted to the right instead.

What would be the cause for this? It is bad cable wireing?
What would you recommend to resolve this issue? I know there are RGB bypass mods and sync strippers.

Yeah I had forgotten about this too and I used to blame various components that had nothing to do with the problem. Horizontal shift to the right is normal with RGB. You have to adjust the tv to make it the base, and then adjust your non RGB systems to match (some systems like Gamecube, Wii etc can do this by going into the centering menus). It's a problem with consoles that can't adjust, but for those just get RGB too. :)

Yes, but my other rgb modded consoles doesnt have the horizontal shift.
Its only with the SNES.
So if I calibrate the tv (I have tried) then either all my other consoles is shifted or my snes

Have you tried sync on composite?

CV sync is pretty much exactly the same as Luma, except with more noise.

The only hardware solution I can think of is taking CSync from before the RGB encoder, where it doesn't have any delay yet, and somehow bringing that out to the cable.
It's advisable to buffer the signal, but doing that could re-introduce the delay of the RGB encoder, so nothing gained.

Accounting for the delay of the sync stripper inside the TV jungle?
I thought Csync pretty much shot through the stripper where CV delays the output of the sync.

Regardless, I have found that you get different screen positions using CVS or CS, Whether it be too far left or right.

The TV sync stripper will work on whatever the signal is that comes in on the SCART pin.
It doesn't discern the type of signal or route one signal differently than the other.

Yes, there often is a difference with CS compared to the other forms. This already happens in the console though.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

So would you say running an RGB buffer/amp after the stock amp would delay RGB and bring things more inline? (running csync around the second amp)

Also Ive changed my initial question after learning Luma is as fast as Composite video,

Have you tried CSYNC?

From the THS7314 datasheet "AC performance > Group delay", there will be a delay of 57ns.
This is too little to matter, and is probably not even visible.
