Samsung Sero - LCD tv designed for shmups?

Post by incrediblehark »

Any thoughts on the Sero? If be interested in seeing lag tests and other benchmarks on this since it looks like it was made for tate-ing.

I posted some thoughts on Ars earlier. Looks pretty useless to me, even for tate stuff. You'd have way more flexibility with panel types and budgets with a rotatable TV mount, rather than being stuck with whatever Samsung decides is best for a gimmick. It's not even motorized.

You'll find cart-like stands on wheels for up to 42" (maybe bigger dunno), usually sold as conference room material.
Good ones are expensive tho, and I haven't seem many featuring rotation.

I think as far as anyone's heard, Samsung isn't making these screens for gamers they're making them so people can stream their vertical phone videos at a party. There's no reason to think these would be any better for arcades than any other generic TV.
