MAME help...

Post by Pixel_Outlaw »

Ok so I have downloaded mame and I also downloaded raiden. The problem is that MAME wants to rotate the screen -90 degrees. I have looked through the help and tried to find a solution but I can't. I know you have to use command lines to bring up the options but I can't even do this. Srry to ask obveous questions but I realy would like to play some classics.

You should try a frontend like EasyMame. Makes fiddling with the options a lot easier.

That's interesting, since I thought most MAME builds should default to playing on a horizontal monitor with letterbox.

If you want to play with a monitor rotated CCW, use the -norotate command line option.
E.g. mamepp esprade -norotate

If you want to play with a monitor rotated CW, use:
e.g. mamepp esprade -norotate -flipx -flipy

Although I can't remember if the game name is supposed to come before or after command line options.

... Or you could just go download Mame32, which works just as well and lays all your options out just like any other program would.

Yeah I'm using a really old MAME build. But it works, so I haven't bothered to get a new one.

I got it it was allowing my graphics card to use rotation.
Thanks!

The solution is to turn your monitor on its side and play these games as they were meant to be played ;) :D
