Does HDMI-CEC Provide Any Performance Improvements?

Like for example, diminish the amount of processing time by a few ms?

I don't believe it should make any difference. CEC is just a protocol for controlling devices over HDMI. For example, when I turn on my TV, it also turns on my receiver. Nothing about the video or audio signals changes AFAIK.

No, but i can use my TV remote to move into my PS4 dashboard

(most of the time, it will just do stuff you don't want, like sending a power signal to your reciever or TV, sometimes so dumb that trying to power on something will do the opposite)

But when HDMI-CEC is enabled, on my TV it will say "PS TV", or "Playstation 4" on top of the screen, while when HDMI-CEC is disabled it doesn't seem to know that it's a signal coming from a PS TV or a Playstation 4 as nothing is written there.

Says you, I love it for my TV and receiver. Works great. I suspect for the PS4 (which runs through a HDMI switch into the TV) it might not be so easy, but gonna try anyway.
