I'm thinking about buying their used Grey Saturn package with the hookups and controller for around $65 (with EMS shipping and all the works). I'm worrying that the system I'm getting is not going to work and it's very scrached (and the cartridge slot doesn't work). $60 for a used Japanese Saturn is cheap compair to $100 with shipping on ebay. I don't want to get rip off from these guys, and their selection of games are just great (not to metion their prices). Anyone of you guys order a used system from them, and it turn out everything was working just fine?
Also I live in the US (110V-120V), and the Saturn needs 100V to run. Do you think a extra 10-20 volts would fried the system? I really don't think so.
Thanks
Japan Game Stock questions
I've ordered 2 different used consoles from JGS and they both came in pretty good condition (yes, the surface of the units may be a bit scratched.. but they carefully check everything to make sure it runs.. not to mention they use a ton of bubble-wrap when they ship something).
You will not require a step-down convertor to run a Japanese console through a US power-socket.
In regards to the cart slot. A Japanese gamer will only be inserting official Sega carts into the slot, not the bevy of 3rd party ones that are available in the US and Europe. Also, the Japanese cart-slots are gold (not tin), so they are a bit more resilient. Just don't go shoving a Gameshark into the console and you should be fine.
Also, I highly recommend that you pick up a new CR2032 battery (same kind used in the DC VMU's) to place in the rear of the console to allow saving to the system.

They also respond to comments very quickly (during morningtime in Japan). The fastest they've responded given a question for me has been under 20 minutes. They're very frank with their responses, for better or worse.
Anyway, in case you didn't know, there's coupons you can use at Japan Game Stock from Team Fremont (the head guy there let everybody know at Pcengfinefx about this deal so it's cool):

For small items, it's best to order more than one game to even out the shipping cost.Ganelon wrote:They also respond to comments very quickly (during morningtime in Japan). Look, the sysetm has no CD lid (but still works). I have too many burn games which I'm not happy with at all. I would perfer selling it for a Japanese system so I can get a new clean state with the Saturn system.Stormwatch wrote:Wouldn't it be cheaper and easier to region-mod it?Fighter17 wrote:I'm selling my US chipped Saturn in order to purchase it.
