I am looking for an HDMI switch with 8 inputs or more that auto switch inputs..I want to connect all HDMI modern consoles PS4/Xboxone/switch/PC/Xbox 360/PS3/Wii U @ 720p. I think you're going to have a difficult time finding an 8-port HDMI switch without going matrix or DIY. I think the most you're going to find in the automatic range is going to be the Kinivo 501BN; however, it can only handle a max of 4K@30Hz.

If you need compatibility with the OSSC and/or 4K@60Hz, the Vorke HD41 Pro, courtesy of DirkSwizzler's recommendation thread, is what's recommended. It only has 4 inputs, so you're going to need to daisy-chain three in order to achieve 8 inputs. (You can probably reduce the number of outlets needed by getting a single 5V 3A power supply and a couple of Y adapters.)

An Aten VS0801H probably fits your requirements. The manual claims that auto-switching is optional and can be disabled via serial or a button combination, but mine always auto-switches - which I really hate, but only noticed after the return period was over.

Thanks for the feedback guys.. is there anything 8 ports or more that does not auto switch? I think that I can be ok without auto swith; I want to avoid daisy chain if possible. Thanks

How much does the Aton cost? I put one in a cart but it doesn't show price.

Looks like it's in the ballpark of $200 USD. At that point might as well spend a bit more and get a proper AVR that has a bunch of HDMI inputs.

Only AVR I can seem to find for anywhere near that is the Denon AVR-S910W for $300, and that 8th input is on the front. :/

Yeah, I think the best bet would be either a more expensive 8 port switch as he asked, or multiple daisy chained switches a la @DirkSwizzler

That aten switch supports "HDCP 1.4 compatible". What is the DHCP version on the PS4/Xboxone/Switch?

It's around 100EUR here in Europe

They all use HDCP 1.4. Typically HDCP 2.2 is only required for 4K sources.

There seems to be a 18GBit, 4K-compatible version of the Aten switch now (VS0801B) that retails around 250-300EUR, but I don't have any direct experience with it.

I noticed that 4K etc compatible one was $43. I need an HDMI switch but my use case does not require it being HDMI 2.2/4K compatible at all. Does anyone know of a similarly good quality HDMI switch that might be a bit cheaper? $43 isn't bad, but I'd rather pay less, obviously.

The only other switch that I've seen have high remarks is the Kinivo 501BN, which is only $3 cheaper. Would be better to get the Volke now instead of having to buy another one down the road when you start adopting 4K@60Hz.

Ended up ordering the 16 HDMI switch that was mentioned on last week RETRORGB..

My TV is a KD-30XS955 and I implemented the lag reduction settings documented in another tread. I am not sure if it reduced lag; I just made the changes before connecting the consoles.

How to get into the service menu was not documented on the lag reduction tread and how to navigate in the menu.. If you have one of those TVs bookmark the link bellow.. KenTech did an excellent job explaining what to do.. Download his files to know what each of the code does.. I fixed the W and H size on the TV following the codes. I am not going to messed with geometry issues because I am not that picky about those sorts of things and I would never be happy with the settings and I don't want to spend too much time on this.. What can I say,, the KD-30XS955 was free and it is a poor man's BVM32 which is what I need.

What??? Do you watch the Q and A at 28ms mark? It shows the switch and the price from eBay.

I did get a quote from Aten for their 8 port switch $321.. there are a few on eBay from Germany that ranges on prices $150-200.

I don't think the YouTube video player has the precision to start playback at 28 milliseconds. :P

Also doesn't help that there's not really a writeup with links in the description of Bob's Q&A video; need to transcribe the URL by hand.

Going to guess it's this Tesla Smart 16x1 Switch:
http://www.tesla-smart.com/16x1-HDMI-sw ... uct_id=196

Not to be confused with their splitter which is 1 input 16 outputs. Only 4k@30Hz though if that's of importance.
