I gotta Sony Trinitron TV and I am trying to have the RGB Scart turn the TV over to RGB once the Scart is plugged in. I have wired 5v to pin 8 but it just turns the TV over to AV and not RGB....
Any ideas?
How do I default my Sony Trinitron to RGB?
Re: How do I default my Sony Trinitron to RGB?
How many Scart inputs does the TV have? For Sony Trinitrons only Input 1 outputs RGB and you need to go on AV 1.
Re: How do I default my Sony Trinitron to RGB?
It has 2 inputs and of course it's in the RGB one. I just don't wanna be picking up the remote every time and switching it to RGB haha
Re: How do I default my Sony Trinitron to RGB?
You need rgb blanking: 1-3 volts on pin 16 and ground on 18.
Depending on your means of delivering this; most (older?) sets can accept this as an impulse change (i.e. once powered on and changed stays changed, until remote/power off), some (newer?) sets however require this to be continuous. Nothing wrong in delivering this continuously on the older sets. Mention this just in case you're currently delivering this with something that you don't want to keep on all the time... or you're trying it with an impulse and it does something, but the change happens so fast it doesn't look like it's working/staying on RGB.

So, is 5v to much, would sending 3v to pin 18 do it?
Re: How do I default my Sony Trinitron to RGB?
It'll probably survive but I wouldn't recommend/risk it, put some resistors in line if 5v to lower it (what's the source?)... and its pin 16
, 18 needs to be ground
