Super Mario Bros Framemeister Checkerboard Pattern?

I performed a 'Reset' on my Framemeister, and now now Super Mario Bros is now displayed with a checkerboard pattern. I am using an adapter from RCA to S-Video.
If I load a profile from firebrandx.com, the issue goes away. If I use RCA instead of S-Video, the issue goes away.

I would like to post a picture, but I don't know how to upload the image. It just looks like a checkers board with white and blue tiles, very small.

What settings do you think would fix this? I tried looking through the settings to no avail.

How does your composite to s-video look like ?

It's probably just a low pass filter setting. You can't change these manually, but by switching between the processing modes (standard - movie - game - natural etc) you also switch between LPF settings. Just try these.
