So what exactly is the Bond Development mode and what exactly is causing new portions to unlock? This really is confusing me because many of them are repeats.

The ps3/360 ports have a couple of issues:mastermx wrote:Now that is an incentive for me. I didn't know the ps3/360 versions didn't match the pcb speed.
- There's a lot of missing slowdown in the Ura loop.
- There's barely any invulnerably time at the start of stages (this is a problem in 2-4).
- It runs at 60 fps even though the PCB runs at 59,17 FPS
I believe it remembers where you die in arcade mode so you can practice it immediately.ZaKa-tokyobassist wrote:So what exactly is the Bond Development mode and what exactly is causing new portions to unlock? This really is confusing me because many of them are repeats.

The 'regular' edition came with the book too. Limited just added the instructions card.schnuth wrote:AFAIK there was the game only, or the game with the book and instruction sheet. So I guess it’s the limited one?munchiaz wrote:Is this the limited amazon version or just standard?
Can anyone confirm that the DLC is indeed on disc? Still waiting for DHL to show up with my copy (Montreal)

I'd also like to know about this, I'm still on the fence about either ordering a physical copy from Playasia or just opening a JP PSN accountdenpanosekai wrote: Can anyone confirm that the DLC is indeed on disc? Still waiting for DHL to show up with my copy (Montreal)
Re: Ketsui Coming to PS4 ?!
Yep, DLC all on disc. Got it a day earlier than expected from DHL and played an hour on it so far. Surprised by the wealth of extra modes and ASTs.

Re: Ketsui Coming to PS4 ?!
I got mine on Friday (Amazon.co.jp was fast AF). So far I've only played arcade mode.
One huge glaring disappointment is that the disclaimer on startup now ends with, 'full extent of the law'. WTF!? The Jam will not be silenced!!
Other than that it's an amazing release. The visuals, sound, and input lag seem improved over the 360 port (based on my subjective and unscientific tests). Everything just has more heft. In particular I've been enjoying the stereo remix of the soundtrack (Namiki fucking ownz!!). It motivated me to hook up my DAC/headphone amp to the PS4 for my Senheiser HD6XX headphones. Sounds amaze-balls!
Also works great with my Hori PS3 arcade stick.

That's how it is on the PCB too. "full extent of the jam" is in Dodonpachi (and maybe some later games?) but was corrected, for better or for worse, by the time Ketsui came about.scrilla4rella wrote:One huge glaring disappointment is that the disclaimer on startup now ends with, 'full extent of the law'. not sure if this is new to the PS4 port, but if you press up/down on the stick during ship selection you can change your ship/shot color

How bad is jitter on screen unfiltered?
Has it been improved over the previous ports?

Re: Ketsui Coming to PS4 ?!
Right on. That's strange that the only things unlocked are Stage 1 and 2 stuff still. I died a million times on Stage 4-Boss and Stage 5 in it's entirety (out of practice so bad lol) and nothing from those stages unlocked on Bondage Development. I guess I'll just stick to messing around in Arcade Challenge.Jaimers wrote: I believe it remembers where you die in arcade mode so you can practice it immediately.
This is probably the best feature I've seen in a shmup. Immensely helpful and kills tedium of reaching those specific sections you want to practice.
Also fought Evaccaneer Doom for the first time thanks to this version. Wtf at that last pattern lol. Can you even get through that without bombing? This thing is one of the hardest things I've actually enjoyed playing. It makes me want to practice it honestly.

If anyone wants a plain Beep edition (no signed- sold), I could try to go to BEEP an see if they are still on sale.
Not assured though.
Re: Ketsui Coming to PS4 ?!
I don't see any jitter if using one of the three presets. I haven't tried stretching the screen or anything.Shelcoof wrote:Got my copy but haven't been able to play it yet.

I given each mode a quick go and it's all pretty spot on. Arcade mode feels slightly different than the 360 port. I could be the tiny difference in speed? Deathtiny seems a bit easy, but it's a nice mode, being able to cancel enemy bullets when in a tight spot kills the difficulty. IKD mode is bonkers, but great, as I'll never have the skills to 2-loop this game. Not sure what custom arcade is and I haven't tried Super Easy.
I read somewhere that it's possible to turn hit boxes on, but I can't figure out all the options. Also, I can't seem to change the BGM. I change it in the options but when I go back to the game it's still default arcade.
Awesome port, but the 360 is still worth having as I think the arrange mode might be better. Not sure. Also, my order came with the book. I guess that was a preorder bonus as I ordered the regular version.
I hope M2 give Ibara the same treatment at some point.
Re: Ketsui Coming to PS4 ?!
Is there an option to stretch the screen? If so I haven't been able to find it.dan76 wrote: I don't see any jitter if using one of the three presets. I haven't tried stretching the screen or anything.
Only options I'm aware of are:
- Hori/Tate
- Presets/Custom
- Size
- Filter
- Some other Option? [Maybe this one is it but I can't do anything here]
- Scanlines 25/50/75/100%
- Wallpaper
Visuals do look much smoother compared to the 360/PS3 ports for sure. If there is jitter its really hard to even notice that's for sure.
I'm really happy with how smooth the port looks and the inclusion of scanline options.
I find 25% scanline unfiltered looks perfect on my LCD Monitor.
Now if there is a way for me to stretch the image so I could possibly try this out on my CRT Monitor would be amazing!

Re: Ketsui Coming to PS4 ?!
Any japanese-savvy members working on menu translations?
I'm struggling with figuring out some of the options, particularly when setting various things in the 'custom' game. Some stuff just isn't obvious what it is doing on a playthrough.
Also, I just see the options for scanlines at different increments, and a smoothing on/off. Is there a more granular setting for filters? Some of the posts in this thread make it look like I should be able to do more.

I dunno bro. I'm really loving this training mode. More than I love save states. It's just a more casual relaxed way to practice. Save states are good, but are so fiddly, and i sometimes load when i'm meant to save, and save when i'm meant to load in the heat of the moment, it's an annoyance. I wish more modern shmups would have a mode like this. This is good innovation, and pretty much sold the game to me.Glick wrote:It also awards medals as you figure out how to better score in each section, and has a "spartan" mode which seems to disable the rewind for when you're ready to practice without training wheels. Still doesn't beat MAME save states, but it's really damn good.
Re: Ketsui Coming to PS4 ?!
I'm really glad it's included too, but it does have its flaws. Primarily in the fact that it leaves you with the standard new life invincibility whenever it rewinds, meaning you can end up setting yourself up much more optimally for the section that killed you by accident, invalidating a key part of practice, since in games like Ketsui setup is as important as the actual dodge. The long countdown, rewind, and "Are you ready?" voice detract too.mastermx wrote:I dunno bro. I'm really loving this training mode. More than I love save states. It's a good piece of innovation, but it has a ways to go before it really serves as the optimal practice function.
Re: Ketsui Coming to PS4 ?!
That's a very good point. I guess it can lead to bad habits. Also, it's not ideal when trying to practice certain scoring segments.Glick wrote:I'm really glad it's included too, but it does have its flaws. Just got mine and very pleased.
Question though: what are the odds that the JPN disc version will be patched to include a full English translation? Didn't Dangun Feveron get a fully translated English release on PSN earlier this year?

Re: Ketsui Coming to PS4 ?!
I don't believe they patched the JP PSN version to have english (I just checked mine and I don't see the option). Nor did they do it for Garegga. I wouldn't expect this to be any different.

That would take care of that problem i believe. You can set the save state wherever you want, and when you go back to it there shouldn't be any invencibility or the "are you ready" lady.

Re: Ketsui Coming to PS4 ?!
It does have the same save states like all the other M2 ports. I don't know why you'd use the challenge mode for practice when you have save states. I guess because you can practice stuff like the Ura loop/doom without ever having to legitimately reach it in game?

I think the challenge mode is a really good idea. You're practicing but still achieving something - well, kind of. To anyone who has one of the other M2 ports - are the options the same? I've no clue as to what I'm changing in the various menus. I still haven't found the display hitbox one yet.
Re: Ketsui Coming to PS4 ?!
Save states can be clunky to use, especially without hotkeys.Mantrox wrote: Doesn't this version also have the normal save states, as garegga had?

The frustrating thing here is that the new practice system is so close to being one of the coolest quality of life/convenience features when it comes to practicing, since it handles things for you. A few quick fixes and it would be incredible, and it makes me sad that some basic testing didn't catch these problems.

You have to go to the main mode select menu and press Square on the mode you want to change the BGM set for, then confirm it with Circle and you'll see the BGM icon above that mode change.dan76 wrote:Also, I can't seem to change the BGM. It's an option called "Fit" in the options, it's towards the top of the display options, I want to say the 3rd or 4th one down. This is how it's written on the menu, in katakana: フィットShelcoof wrote: Is there an option to stretch the screen? If so I haven't been able to find it.

Got the BGM sorted out, for some reason yesterday it wasn't saving it, today it is. Weird.
