Celebrity Shmups: Shmups that appear on TV and Movies

SEGA was always very aggressive with tv product placement. You can actually see Saturns, Genesises (Genesai? ) and Dreamcasts all over various sitcoms from around when those systems launched. Something I never really noticed until very recently.

Yeah, there's also a Sega Saturn in the movie "Dead Man On Campus" in several scenes.

I forget... was there a shmup in the arcade scene of 'The Replacement Killers'

I always thought it was amazing that they where fighting the skull in NARC on the TMNT movie... isn't that the last form of Mr. Big? Which means they would have had to have played through the game all the way when that scene was shot. Which would mean that scene took ALOT of shots and a couple of young extras got to play through NARC for free dressed as ninja punks!

Oh, and what where those kids playing in 'The Last Action Hero' when Schwarzenegger bust into thier living room... or am i thinking of something else?

In the Futurama episode "Anthology of Interest," Fry asks a "what-if" simulator how life would be if it was like a video game.

During the simulation, some Space Invader-like aliens come down to attack Earth, and Fry has to defeat them with the ship from SI.

old as all hell thread, but saw something that was noteworthy and couldn't help but mention it...

-on Supernatural (episode "Something Wicked"), as a kid Dean is seen playing an Andro Dunos cab. don't see the actual game being played, and the actor is obviously not playing the game. but hey the cab was there, and that was enough to get a chuckle out of me.

Neon Genesis Evangeleon had a SEGA TV Set and a Saturn hooked up in one of the episodes. Dunno about any shmups on it though, though the likelyhood is pretty high.
