This reminds me of some of the topics at gamefaqs where people accuse something that was confirmed to be real by multiple sites as being fake. The site link and info suggests that the game is definatly an arcade game, but there is still doubt amoung the obvious. Why would the letters ac be at the end of a URL for a cell phone game? I doubt that Naomi GD ROM is a mistake. Also, I looked at the shots again and the graphics are definatly cell shaded. Have you guys even seen a cell shaded game? I don't think the reslution is as low as some of you guys make it out to be. Cell shading is often aliased and if you look closely, the game has those bold outlines and details that come from cell shading. Seriously, you guys (or guy) need to quit your day job.

"It has been confirmed that this is an arcade game on GD Rom hardware "
Exactly; given this confirmation, I highly doubt this is a cell-phone game
And I wholeheardedly agree with BrianC's assesment of the graphics in this game.
Bottom Line, if it's a GD-Rom shmup, then it'll probably show up on the DC sooner or later.

I'm pretty sure it's GD-ROM also. A huge mistake like that isn't likely to appear on an official website.
With the battery indicator and reception meter argument, assuming this is a cell phone game, let's say they're located at some OS-reserved space on the screen. Then what about the score counter right next to those also appearing in the grey bar? The character profile also extends into this space.
I think the cell phone thing is more of a theme to the game. Anyway, I'm looking forward to how this turns out :)

Hmmm...an arcade/console game designed to mimic a cell phone game? Well, you can't say it's not an original idea...though one could probably think of quite a few reasons why no one else has bothered to attempt it, heh.
Personally, as I said on the temp forum, I'm most concerned that Milestone makes this game feel more "complete" than Chaos Field...the latter wasn't a bad game by any means, but it just felt too much like a doujin to be worth the money they asked for it...if they're doing the same sort of thing this time around, they should either lower the MSRP or (preferably) put in some more time on it.

Yesss! Excellent if true. Man, the DC has turned out to be the shooter system of "vengeance." Talk about getting your money's worth out of a console. I can't wait to hear how this vs. shmup plays, I have so many questions, how if at all do you block/parry enemy shots, ect.? Some kind of reflect/absorb I imagine.Super Laydock wrote:Well I didn't want to jinx anything here , but since you mention it I'd say a DC port is very welcome.Kiken wrote:With any luck, we'll see another DC port, ...
BTW. apparently Senko no Ronde is to be released on DC and getting a release 4 months (or more depending on possible extras) after the arcade game. Got it from a reliable source who got the news from Kron (he predicted Chaos Field for DC right). Kron can you confirm or deny this?
Radiology or whatever it's called looks neat, but I will reserve judgment for bigger screens. These smaller pics make it look a tad bland and as others have said, homebrewed to a degree.

apart from the fact the japanese call them "keitai"Thunder Force wrote:This will probably do OK in arcades, for the gimmick value (hey everyone in Japan loves cellphones, right?) but I can't see it selling well as a full price DC port. CELLphones + CELshading, maybe it's some sort of pun.
which is also mentioned in the text at the bottom of the art.

Its pretty a pretty cool idea having it in the style of a mobile phone game. With the battery as the life bar.

haha i wouldn't have a problem with thatjp wrote:Love it. Looks great.
You know, if I didn't know better, I'd almost want to say that Milestone and G.Rev are competing to see who can actually release the "final Naomi/DC" game.
I also think even though the DC is almost completely dead, that the shmup culture knows what is going to be released, and will buy it for the DC, which has been happeneing for a while now. At least they know it wont be thrown into the Massive jumble of ps2 games. Even though its gonna have to mave on soon.
Anyway.. this game looks very cool For some reason between the music, and the graphics/ship style, it reminded me of a Genesis game. Especially the music.. some strange cross between Toe-Jam and Earl music, a little Fantasy zone....idk... looks cool I'm definitely going to pick it up .. My DC needs some loving.

I do!The vagrant wrote:i dont like what im seeing, but who cares.
The 'preview' movies from AOU piqued my interest a bit more, for some reason. Some of those movies from the show were unbelievable, and the high-res collage looked fantastic. This movie, though, while neat, perhaps doesn't cause an excitement level matching that feeling of first seeing something new for the first time... It still looks like a great piece of work, though. It's neat to see the backgrounds up close!
But... That girl is evil! Did you all see, at the end of the movie?
I wonder, what that "mail" icon means. Also; I agree that the shield feature seems a bit too accessible, but, the game'll most likely be tweaked a bit (at least) before it hits arcades. I'm sure that the thing will come in handy when/if I play the game, as well... There's no way that I'm anywhere near as skilled as those players at AOU!
