Amiga RGB-SCART output

Post by pseudopod52 »

Following Fudoh's recommendations I had purchased a Videon Omega and Silicon Graphics Image Anyplace for connecting retro consoles to
an HDTV. My PS2, PS1, Super Famicon, Sega Saturn and Nintendo N64 all gave nice displays using either one of the above upscalers.

The tough one is with my old Amiga 500. I tried an RGB to VGA cable but found out that the 15kHz signal is not accepted by either the Video or IA. Then tried RGB to SCART cable (from Amiga Kit) connected to a good quality SCART-component adapter, plugged it into the Videon's component input. The picture was wonderfully clear. However, the video shudders vertically making it unusable.
Next I bought a component to HDMI converter (Comprehensive unit) and connected the Amiga RGB-SCART to SCART-component to component-HDMI directly into the LCD display. The picture is now stable but only at 240p!

I tried plugging the above into the DVI input of the IA but there is no signal. I thought the IA can handle 240p without dropping a sweat.
Any ideas?

If you go scart to a tv that has rgb scart you have no problems. You you can go scart to vga to a 15khz monitor like a dell U2410 orU2412m (hdmi TVs will do it also). Or you can use the GBA 8200 board which is a very popular option.
