Who Kills The VideoGame Industry..collectors vs. PPPP
Collectors..because of you..you know who you are..you are the ones that are killing the forum selling industry. So your unit is made up of used video game parts/boards but yet you remain to stay in competition sellers when it comes to buying and selling. therefore, your selling tactics are rushed into you and you decide to make an extra buck or two(note the sarcasm). Merchandise has its own values to you and yet, you're always looking for MORE. Who in the right decency of mind would buy something just to sell it to put food on the table(greed)
Granted, there is no written contract but hey.what gives the right from some Collector on the Internet to publically humiluate me.Kept my cool. No public response because I have had warnings from this forum before, and I soley respect them. they told me"hey shuttup this isnt gamefaqs" through pm, and i listen cuz i respect the peace.
There are snakes on the internet. This SNAKE on the Internet is the one that his/her motivation comes from greed just to help somebody find a game that they really want. Dont bite what you cant chew. But this is not the main issue.
In life, shit happens and shit comes up.(not literally) but there will be times in life when I really want to buy a game, made it known that i want it,but along the way, shit comes up and I cant be able to keep my end of the bargain because I didnt like the way you were addressing me about the matter, your presentation of the seller, as in communicationg, lacks respect. I didnt feel that respect from you.I cant control that, man. But at least I told you what was up before it took any longer. I requested time and that time was never given to me.I believed the transaction was squashed when I start using a certain racial slur as an attack. Thus, noted to me that this transaction has been completely shut down. It was a matter of convienence, bro. Dont take it the wrong way. We done business before.
I take my blame for it but I believe such words said about me has been undenialy inappropriate. But to the people who knows me by just business and for whom has forgiven me along the way(Ord..I publicly address to you about my remorse of my wrongdoings..Such words were exchanged, and you were the better man about it and forgave me) I hope my presence around here is postitive and being myself is OK with other people.

The cave whore count in this thread is unbelievable!!!
I'm sorry man, i'll send you Keira Knighley's underwear back and pay for the shipping costs just as long as i get a full refund of the purchase price. I think this whole thing got out of hand and we were both immature about it. Just so you know, i only used them once and i would wash them but i'm not sure if you're Japanese buyer's would want me too. As i feel that this was a misunderstanding and that you are an honest individual i doubt that you would lie to them upon resell and tell them that they had not been washed. If it means anything they still smell like her Axe body spray. I hope that we can still do buisness in the future and i sincereley apologize.
Godzilla was an inside job
i dont know.. just because youve had a shitty deal with BIG doesnt mean all other collectors are scum does it?
i have nolove for the guy either but i wouldnt dream of dissing gaijinpunch or zak (or any of the other numerous collectors on these boards) because of it?, just stay clear of him in the future, forgive but dont forget.

the destruction of everything, is the beginning of something new. your whole world is on fire, and soon, you'll be too..
Collectors in general make me mad, because they don't use the junk they collect!
Car collectors don't drive their rare antique automobiles and let them gather dust in a private garage. It's a freakin car, DRIVE THAT SUMOFABITCH!
Videogame collectors have too many games and will probably never get around to playing them all. Why one needs so many is beyond me.
Comic collectors.....don't even get me started on them.

My roommate loves manga and buys series she started and didn't like just to complete the series. When she got a Dual Screen she go so excited and bought all these new games and has only played Animal Crossing for more than 4 hours in total.FatCobra wrote:Collectors in general make me mad, because they don't use the junk they collect!

Ugh! I can only afford a new game or comic every couple of months and it makes me so mad. Since she makes so much money she doesn't appreciate the things she buys, she just collects them because she appreciates the whole of her collection. Boo!

I used to be a games collector, but after a recent epiphany, I realised how utterly pointless such a practice is.
I got into collecting so I had more games to play, but if I can play all Neo Geo, SNES and Mega Drive games on my Xbox, why have the originals? Do I really need that second copy of Neo Geo Metal Slug or that sealed Radiant Silvergun? Of course not, and they're just a waste of money.
I don't have anything against collectors, but I do feel sorry for them if they can't find anything better to spend their money on then stuff they're never going to get any pleasure out of. I shudder to think of all the money I spent on meaningless tat that could have gone on more worthy stuff.
I think it becomes an addiction, but because there is something to show for it (unlike alcoholism or drug addiction), people don't frown on it so much.
In conclusion, we need to help these poor addicts with their addiction!

And a shameless plug for the stuff I'm selling on eBay, if you're into that sort of thing.

Was Strikers III a bootleg? If not, $150 is perfectly fair. Waiting eight days before relisting something for sale is also perfectly fair. Namecalling can be fun, if a little juvenile. It probably wasn't necessary on the forum, but you say plenty of rude shit when pressed so deal with it.
You're going to be alright. That wasn't the last Strikers III in the wild.

I know I'll regret getting involved, but, I:
1: Got out of credit card debt
2: Was able to move out of a shithole apartment into a nice one
3: Actually started a (gulp) savings account
...all from buying and selling used games in my spare time. I had repeat business as well b/c I undercut everyone else. I collect games, and even if I don't get to the mall, I at least PLAN to get to everything I buy at some point. I'd say I've got about 30-40 games here that I've not touched yet.
Does that make me a scum bag?

Lets get one thing straight, "Collectors" buy games with no intention of selling. What you all are referring to is something else, call it what you will, "reseller", "trader", "business-man".
As long as you are undercutting the normal sources we all have access to (Hong Kong resellers) then you are doing good for the community. Act like Japhei, and you are a dick.

I really don't see why everyone is suddenly "Anti-Collector".
Granted, your post isn't about collectors, but sellers. Actually, from your post it sounds like your problem is with one jackass in particular.
See, I'm a collector. I have a complete Panzer Dragoon collection (sans the Sega Ages bullshit, fuck you for that Sega), complete NiGHTS collection, a massive Saturn collection, and nice collections for the DC, SNES, NES, Sega CD, etc.
But I don't sell my games or items. I keep 'em. And I know there's a ton of people on here that have something up their ass about that ("Well, I don't keep games I don't play. Harumf!"). Yeah, well good for you. The way I see it, if nothing is coming out at least I can consult my almost 500 Saturn games and find something I haven't tried or played through and be like "Hey! Lets see how this is!"
At least, thats how I see it. To me, collecting is a hobby. I don't work on cars. I don't buy coins. I don't collect art. I just collect videogames. Its fun. Its something to put extra money into and enjoy. I'm not being being a jackass to other gamers, hell, ask ANYBODY I've sold items to. I always sell my stuff for way cheaper than normal prices because... well... thats just what I do. I hate price jacking as much as you.
My only "fault" I guess is that ports, rereleases, and collections drive me crazy. I really wish companies would quit whoring shit out like that.

RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!!!!!!
Once you've sold something, it's no longer your property, and whatever the new owner wants to do with it should be fair game.PsikyoPshumpPshooterP in the Trading Station feedback thread wrote:It was my OWN board that he had that i was going to back back from him.
I sold an OutZone PCB for $90, at a time when the market value was at least $150. But I didn't know that and I was told by somebody (you know who you are, but no worries man

ANYWAY, I have had good dealings with both BIG and PPPP so I hope we can all get on with our happy shooters.

Good point GJP. I really don't understand the mentality that some 'collectors' have that because it says Playstation 2 (or any other console they dislike) on the box it's some sort of sacrilege. I'm glad companies port their very well-made games, particularly those that didn't have a large print run to being with. It allows future generations of gamers to enjoy them for a reasonable price on the current widely available console(s), as well as giving the company that made the game some more revenue (rather than having that revenue trade hands among the used game market or on ebay or whatever). Anyone who disagrees with that notion does so only out of a selfish lust for a false purity.GaijinPunch wrote:If you have to have everything, why not spend $20 on it and buy it?Regardless, its existence means that the PD collection will never be complete.

What's hurting the gaming industry most, at least in this country, is the fact that major industry conventions are either expensive as hell to get into, or aren't open to the general public at all, like E3. Not a very brilliant thing to do on behalf of the industry, considering that E3 will be the first chance ANYONE has at playing a PS3 or Revolution.
Don't get me wrong; I had an awesome time at the GDC this year. But I have parents who were willing to pay the expenses for the trip; not everyone is so blessed. And the thought that, perhaps some people weren't able to afford any of the passes, and thus may have missed out on the GDC because of that, really pisses me off. These types of industry events NEED to be more open; period.
Other than that, I agree with JP; with regards to collecting. I'm not a collector, but if I can't find a game I want, I'm not going to scapegoat anyone who does collect games. I'll just keep on looking, and, eventually, the game will turn up.
