OLED motion blur vs plasma motion blur
Does one of these display types generally resolve motion more smoothly or does it depend alot more on what kind of "smooth motion" tech the OLED uses? I've been kind of frusturated with LCDs and how blurry everything is when one is playing a game where the whole screen is constantly panning like in a shmup like Ikaruga shmup like Ikaruga or an FPS game which I also play a fair bit. I even picked up a old 2008 panasonic plasma for 40$ a few months ago and its ability to resolve motion is a significant improvement over even the 1ms MPRT resposnse time "gaming" LCD monitor I have, but my old HDTV CRT from around 2002 still kicks the plasma out of the water as far as resolving motion goes. There are a number of issues though that are stopping me from playing on the old CRT, among them the screen has pretty significant overscan, it can only display 1080i signals and it isn't sharp enough to even display every pixel of a 1080x1920 frame in the first place and its just an older screen that has seen better days, although blurays still look fantastic on it where those things are not huge issues.

Google Blur Busters. You'll find a site with a large community that specifically focuses on blur questions.
Don't worry about running into a bunch of elitist "video guys" there that will dismiss video games and tell you a bunch of shit about Blu Rays. Blur Busters doesn't discriminate and gaming is a huge focus there. (The AV Forums is where the video guys are and we hope they stay contained.)
That's where you'll find the information you want--and more.
This a great forum, but that's home base for blur.
