Shmups Books

Post by Mandarake86 »

Hello

I am aware of some shooters books like HG101 series (I like) or Shooters game sides magazine ( which I don't like).

Do you know any other publication focused on shooters? In english or Japanese.

Thanks a lot

What's not to like? A lot of love went into that book, and they're rumored to do a toaplan book soon. Oh and Shooting gameside if you can read Japanese or like pictures, and how about shmuplations?

I said I like HG101.
I said I don't like Shooting gamesides, too much commercial.

I wish there was a book on the history of Shumps.

You say Japanese or English, but for some reason don't like the Shooting Gameside magazines.. What exactly are you looking for, and why don't you like them?

Several of us have translated articles from the Shooting Gameside series - you can find them here under "translations":

I have dozens of books for sale, and can make some recommendations if you let me know what you're looking for in a book or magazine.

So you specifically want a doujin book about the history of shmups?

Sorry about that, but I agree there should be a large book with sprawling web of time lines, influences, and programmer's movements. Like that music chart in "Rise of the Ogre"

Yes, a book about the history of shumps or a book collecting them in chronological order
