A small dilemma...

Post by JBC »

Well right now i'm kind of in a tight situation financially but i really want Mega Man Powered Up for my PSP.

I haven't been playing my PS2 for quite some time, as there are no games i'm interested in on it right now besides Metal Gear Solid III Subsitence that i haven't already played to death. I've already torn the regular MGSIII to pieces, though.

The only other thing i wanted my PS2 for was Raiden III - but apparently the PC version is better so now i'm planning on getting that.

Now, I have a fairly large library of PS2 games - but i also already have 500 down on the (backwards compatible) PS3 and will no doubt be obtaining that system right out the door. No one is sure when it's release date is but it's safe to say that it will be soon.

Here's the bad part - for my old model PS2 Gamestop will give me a sad 50 dollars. This 50 bones is enough for me to obtain a copy of MM Powered Up though, and a used ac adaptor for my PSP since i lost mine like a twit.

I wouldn't feel responsible actually plopping down the cash for the game right now but i don't think it would be so bad to get rid of my PS2 - which will be obsolete (lol - and likely broken) within the next 6-8 months. Am i just justifying this out of impulse or does it seem like a fair deal?

I read that Megaman Powered Up has tons of awesome stuff in it.

Doesn't make sense to me. You could always sell your PS2 on ebay or here on the forums (if it works well) for more than 50 bones. Aside from that, it really makes no financial sense to buy a console on launch, especially if you're broke. And finally, if you're waiting for the PS3 launch, you might be waiting a while -- and even then you'll have no guarantee of 100% compatibility. If you've played the crap out of all your games maybe you should consider selling some of those instead.

$50 notes seems a little low, why not try selling it here for a tad more. Of course if your impatient and really need the game like yesterday, then I guess you gotta do what you gotta do!
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

Sell it on ebay, man. How much did you want for it, btw?
Don't hold grudges. GET EVEN.
