I just tried the laser for fun and a bit of variety. I originally thought it to be pretty weak. Turned out it worked remarkably well. Maybe I'll abandon the bubble shot and stick to the laser.

I think the 123 laser is my weapon of choice now. I stupidly lost a life at the stage 2 boss, then another one at the fourth midboss and two more at the fourth boss. Surprisingly, I dispatched the fifth midboss without any problems but finally I ran into one of big double ships' blue bullets, because I was so much into the groove of slashing/recharging that I didn't bother to look at my abs meter and just assumed that it was always full. Turned out it wasn't.

Currently I'm experimenting with different ship speeds. A faster ship has some advantages, but it makes dodging dense patterns a whole lot more difficult.

I'm just back from another date with him. He sent me lots of flowers, but wouldn't want to accept any of the delicious lasers and sword strikes I wanted to give to him in return.

That last run was definitely my best yet. Only one life lost (at the fourth midboss again, as usual

) on the way to the last boss, but there, all hell broke loose. I don't see me beating that guy very soon.

I missed my current highscore by just a few points, but I managed to collect 97% of the bonus icons, which means that I only have missed 8 or so. Collecting them all in stage 2 means sacrificing some excellent scoring opportunities, though.

I died right next to the MileStone logo. I just didn't realize how much damage that spot takes to reveal the item. Now, it can only be picked up once it gets close to the bottom of the screen, right?
