Mitsibishi Megaview XC3725C Not getting signal

Post by Hoagtech »

I was playing some turbografx when I decided to turn the brightness up on the back of the tv with the switches, by turning the channels from 75ohm to "High".

My picture dropped and now I cannot get a picture in either brightness modes on my RGB1 RGBHV BNC input.

How would I diagnose this issue?

I have an OSSC outputting RGBHV through a DVI to VGA DAC converter (Tendak).

I have messed with the switches before during gameplay and this has never happened.

I figured it out. It was a terrible feeling.

I tested the OSSC on my flat panel and it worked fine. Ruled that out.

I then disconnected the OSSC from my RGBHV BNC connectors and connected the dreamcast by itself with a 4' VGA cord. I still could not get an image.

So I flipped the sync level switch from 75 ohm to "high" and got an image from my dreamcast. Everything worked fine after that and I was able to reconnect my OSSC and my extensions.

The lesson learned. Don't EVER flip a brightness switch while your tv is on.

I remember retro RGB had a Mitsubishi monitor with a similar problem. This might solve it.
