I had already suspected someone would rope down from the ceiling in the dead of night, snatch the PCB, trigger a fire alert, and exit disguised as a firefighter.CStarFlare wrote:Heist.

Whatever they do i hope they don't release it; the collectard ejaculation over this is already getting pretty annoying as it is.

An impressive amount of attention for a modification of a game hardly anyone plays that gives it "Generally more bullets, faster increasing rank and higher difficulty" (quoted from the opening post).CStarFlare wrote:the thread has five pages dude
Re: Pink Sweets Suicide Club (alternate version)
It's certainly a better designed hack than Progear Red ever was, but it doesn't change enough for my taste, and some of the changes feel pretty bootleggy.

I still don't get the reason for keeping this behind a mist of pseudo-secrecy, even less so if it's not that great after all.
Was really expecting the end of the teasing @ stunfest.
If the hack's author fears legal thunder from Cave then why bother 'revealing' it to the world ? for people it ends up being yet another of those hacks/special/extra versions we'll likely - frustratingly to some - never get to play nor learn more about anyway.
Personally I have lost interest. *shrug*

My guess is 10% fear of CAVE, and 90% the psychological game of "if it's secret it's interesting".

The most interesting thing to me is still how the hack works if it really is running on cv1000.

Re: Pink Sweets Suicide Club (alternate version)
I haven't had a chance to play any Ibara title so it's more of a curiosity at this point.
What i would like to see in the future is an M2 release with all the Ibara versions. If this one is indeed "official" (whatever that entails) add it in as well.
If it's good let's play it; if it sucks keep it in the history book.
Somebody from the former CAVE team must know the burning procedure pretty well, and have access to the hardware to do it, i would assume.spmbx wrote:The most interesting thing to me is still how the hack works if it really is running on cv1000.

Im no collector and I think it would be great fun to try it and see how it plays.
Wish I could attend Stunfest.

Re: Pink Sweets Suicide Club (alternate version)
how does exclusivity make something more interesting to play
Re: Pink Sweets Suicide Club (alternate version)
It's probably more interesting for folks that already like the other versions.
I don't think he mentioned it was due to it's exclusivity.

Same. That's what I'm here for. I don't care for Pink Sweets, but the prospect of hacking CV1000 hardware is interesting.spmbx wrote:The most interesting thing to me is still how the hack works if it really is running on cv1000.
I also don't get what all the stupid secrecy is for.

Here's how to hack a CV1000 game: remove rom, hack it, put it back on the board.

Funny, I thought they had all kinds of encryption security measures

So did any video of the game make it out of Stunfest? Would be great to see - was really hoping to see a full run though I imagined it would be credit fed.
Re: Pink Sweets Suicide Club (alternate version)
Yes, it was streamed on Icarus’ channel.

Re: Pink Sweets Suicide Club (alternate version)
Yeah i guess i had conversions to other games and hacks to existing games mixed up. Making a hack of an existing game would work if you had the original board of that specific game i guess.
Re: Pink Sweets Suicide Club (alternate version)
CV1k has very little security, the only thing that would make hacking on it weird is the program is compressed on the flash. So you need to write a decompressor to get at the original, then a new compressor to create the data to put back onto the flash. Not really a ton of work for that.Sumez wrote:Funny, I thought they had all kinds of encryption security measures

Thanks for that (and thank you to Icarus for streaming)
