I was finally able to get a DVDO iScan Duo for a decent price and I'm in the process of hooking up a bunch of retro consoles (9 to be exact) to it.
Does anyone have any recommendations as far as settings?
For example, should I use the Game Mode on iScan Duo or my TV? Or both?
Here's what I'll be hooking up to it:
HDMI 1 - Analogue CMVS via Component to HDMI adapter
HDMI 2 - Analogue NT
HDMI 3 - Analogue Super NT
HDMI 4 - N64 with HDMI mod
HMDI 5 - Genesis via SCART to HDMI adapter
HDMI 6 - Saturn via SCART to HDMI adapter
HDMI 7 - Dreamcast via Akura HDMI adapter (wondering if VGA would be a better option)
Component 1 - PS2
Component 2 - XBOX
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

What kind of Scart to HDMI adapter do you have in mind ?Genesis via SCART to HDMI adapter
Your posting in the other thread makes it sound as if you're really aware of the difference between a video processor and a switch. Keep in mind that depending on your source, the iScan Duo can degrade your visual quality a lot. This starts with internal 4:2:2 processing on the iScan's side (= cutting the color resolution into half) and ends with mangling 240p sources by adding tons of vertical ringing.

Re: Recommended settings for DVDO iScan Duo
Yeah I have a Duo but I only use it for film sources and as a passthrough switch for modern consoles. It's quite nice in this role. I prefer my 30 and even that I really only use to line double (for 240p/480i) or (essentially) transcode (for slightly newer 480p stuff) older sources to a VGA CRT monitor.Fudoh wrote:What kind of Scart to HDMI adapter do you have in mind ?Genesis via SCART to HDMI adapter

If I were getting something for only gaming now, I'd get an OSSC and switch(es). The only time this would really be annoying is if you have a lot of composite (because really who wants to hook up composite via scart) and svideo sources but these days there is hardly a reason for them in vintage gaming.
A Duo is livable though, if a bit not ideal for this content.
