Video Quality of Wii games on Wii vs Wii Games on Wii U

I've heard that the Wii video quality isn't great even over component, does anybody know if the Wii U has better video quality when playing Wii games in Wii mode also over component? If the Wii U does have better quality playing Wii games in Wii mode is there a good reason to play those games on the original Wii or might I as well just play them on Wii U?
