The default setting always centers your copter when you aren't firing and aren't moving either left or right.rtw wrote:Is this selectable in the option menu ? And I think a better question is: Is this control option selectable in the Arcade? After all, in many Metal Slug high score forums, I've seen Vulcan Fix banned as it is not available on default MVS settings.

I'm feeling slightly silly. I've tried both settings but I can't feel theKiken wrote:The default setting always centers your copter when you aren't firing and aren't moving either left or right.

difference. If I move my chopper left and let go, it returns to a
position where the bullet stream is parallell to one of the sides. On
page 13 of the manual it says Control Rotation but since I cannot
read Japanese I don't understand the Kanjii there.
If someone could elaborate I would be most grateful!
And yes I agree that we have to determine if this is selectable in the arcade.

im sorry please ignore me i am talking poop. I think i've confused the screen which explains the controls with different settings because if you push right you get another screen - since it was all in japanese i just assumed it was another control method.
My bad sorry guys
oh and btw i dont recommend playing this game when pissed as it becomes ultra frustrating...

ah ok. i thought that was what you were talking about (i thought that the tutorial was selectable controll schemes too at first), but then Kiken came in and seemed to back up the story.Guardians Knight wrote:im sorry please ignore me i am talking poop. Perhaps that's my fault for not thoroughly going through the options (I normally just check button layout).Daigoro wrote:ah ok. i thought that was what you were talking about (i thought that the tutorial was selectable controll schemes too at first), but then Kiken came in and seemed to back up the story.

Yip! I'm back, and table is updated.
Re: control setup
The arcade version only allows control method 1 (auto-recentering) - the other control setup is banned from the table.
Re: screen mode
Does anybody have specific examples of slowdown that is lacking in yoko?
Re: Guardians Knight's score
Got a stage?

Man, this game is killing me. It's addictive as all hell, but the difficulty curve is a bitch. I end up breezing through the first two stages, and then the third tends to take me out with surgical precision. I wasn't too satisfied with this run (especially the last part), but I hit 1m, which was my goal for the day, and also got to 1-4 for the first time, where I flailed about like a fish out of water and died halfway through the stage. I'm starting to hate those sniper helicopters, though. Anyway, hopefully I can improve my consistency in this game, as I'm really all over the place.

We here shall not rest until we have made a drawing-room of your shaft, and if you do not all finally go down to your doom in patent-leather shoes, then you shall not go at all.
