A bit of warning to those at work: you may want to wait until you go home. My company's filter didn't like the link to hobbyfan.

How much the Ikaruga Shirasagi garage kit will cost?...

Post by PC Engine Fan X! »

That Ikaruga Shirasagi garage kit looks awesome. I wonder how much the garage kit will cost of the Ikaruga Shirasagi...hopefully, it won't be too expensive, huh?

I do have a brand new Panzer World Galient mecha model kit that's been out of production since the mid 1990's and was produced by the Elfin Model Corporation Ltd. company is up for grabs at $80.00 USD. E-mail me at: us-pc-engine-fan (at) juno.com

Panzer World Galient is a Japanese anime series if it doesn't ring a bell with the ocassional anime fan but the die-hard otaku will definitely know about that particular late 1980's anime series. It hasn't gotten an official U.S. release on VHS or DVD...perhaps a U.S. anime distributor will get the exclusive rights to properly subtitle it in English.

I suspect that Hobbyfan is actually selling bootlegs. :x

What I mean is they are selling knock off copies of the orginal kits.

Take the Reko kit as example, they are selling for $48.26 that 5,549.9 yen  . The orginally kit was only sold at WonFac for 8,000+ yen and people are selling it at auction.yahoo.jp for around 10,000 yen.

How come they could sell it for 5,549.9 yen?!?! There must be something wrong.

Plus the fact that the orginal maker of the kit doesn't mension anything about the kit being avaliable at Hobbyfan.

If someone could post a photo of the kits you bought from Hobbyfan, I might be able to verify this.

Hobbyfan is recasts, yes. The ethics of recasting are pretty murky - since a lot of these kits are an extremely limited production run, recasts may be the only way to go for some folks for a kit that is nigh impossible to get.

I try to buy mostly originals, myself, but I'll spring for a recast as a very, very last resort. My collection is about a 75/25 split between originals and recasts, and I'm trying to get that down to about 90/10.

Resin quality of originals is generally better too IMO :D

Fucking awesome, Chris Reynolds is the guy who donated his kit for the recast (read his review). As you can see, it was $200 originally and that is off Yahoo JP Auctions.

Sly Cherry Chunks, do you know any good guides or tips on putting these together? I've never done one before.

Did anyone get the Vic Viper, Silver Hawk, or Sirasagi (Ikaruga) models yet?

I emailed Hobbyfan since these have been pre-order status for over a year now, and got this response:

There 3 kits happens to be from a single workshop production.
Recently, this particular workshop is going through bankruptcy issue with many of its wholesale customer.
Included Hobbyfan. The own us spent all of our deposit payment and cannot fulfill delivery on.
According to the owner we personally spoken to in person. He promise to delivery our order in separate occasion.
But so far, for the past 8 months. He has only managed to delivery 10% of our original orders.
The last words from him is still trying very hard to rebuild his position.
Only option is to wait.

Of course, if you rather cancel them. We can do it for you no questions ask.

*Hobbyfan offered to buy out many of their original kits (including those 3 from your order) to find alternative workshop or casting.
but he refuse to give up those wonder kits of his. -__-

So it looks bad..... :(
Don't just dodge bullets, dance around them.
