Lately I've been getting back into playing R-Type Final and it just occured to me that I have never played any of the earlier R-Type games.
Does anyone know where I could obtain either a Story/Plot Analysis FAQ or some sort of Plot Summary for the games?
I'd especially like to know what exactly happened to the R-13 Cerberus ship in the events of R-Type Delta as I don't have that game.

R-Type History
The world would be a better place if there were less shooters and more dot-eaters.

The game didn't give any real explanation, however, I came to conclusion that R-13 failed to escape from the Bydo dimension because, of the three models in Delta, it was the one equipped with the weakest charge beam.
Sure, the Delta Weapon was great and the Force was able to charge the dose very quickly, but in the end, the ships had to return to our dimension by using the beam, and R-13 homing thunder was clearly its weak point...

Re: R-Type History
Irem made some attempt to do this on the R-Type Official Page here. Yes, it's in English.Blade wrote:Lately I've been getting back into playing R-Type Final and it just occured to me that I have never played any of the earlier R-Type games.

Hello doctorx0079:
In case you don't know, an excellent resource of all things R-Type is slateman's site.

<SPOILER>
As for the fate of R-13 in Delta, you probably know by playing R-Type Final that it was assimulated by the Bydo. If you don't, just finish level 3 with ship number 69 "Cross the Rubicon", then you'll be able to play a new level 3.5 where you meet the assimulated R-13 at the end of the level.
In R-Type Delta, you get to choose between 3 ships, each with different endings. After destroying the last boss, all of these ship would attempt to escape back to real space. At the threshold, the ships would fire off their charge shots to open up the doorway back. R-13's charged shot, being weaker than the other two (to compensate for the fact that it homes-in on the enemies), could not open up the doorway back and is assimulated into the Bydo at the end.
In my opinion, R-13 was the easiest to finish R-Type Delta with. They couldn't give the best ending with the easiest ship now, could they? :)
Cheers.
